3b Additional parking at Tesco will benefit the High Street trade

Please add any other comments regarding transport and parking

“Tesco is not the solution to having additional parking for the high street”

“I believe parking is almost sufficient in Hadleigh at the moment.”

“Parking is not to bad, there is always small spots to find, but Tesco will be there own parking space allowing massive access to the shop and High Street.”

“Depends if the Tesco shopper can be seduced to see the empty shops in the High Street!”

“Any benefit will depend upon time restrictions imposed by Tesco”

“The vehicles still have to get to the car park and I think that the volume of traffic will create more problems than increased parking will solve.”

“Increased traffic in the High Street will have an adverse effect on trade”

“Additional parking will only help the High Street if time allows and good pedestrian access is part of the development. Closing the High Street to traffic (Angel Street to Market Square) would breath new life into the town”

“Traffic could become more congested with more lorries coming, especially down Gallows Hill/Friars Road. Also Babergh parking needs to be increased”

“High Street does not have sufficient customer parking with easy access to the shops. Tesco site is not close enough to the centre of the High Street to benefit existing trade”
