SAFER FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS – AND BETTER FOR YOUR BUSINESS!

Babergh is offering both a free workshop and a site visit to food-handling businesses in the district. The Council’s Environmental Health Team is doing this to ensure that firms are complying with the new food regulations that came into force this year.

“The legislation requires that all food businesses have to maintain a documented food safety management system and recommends that the ‘Safer Food, Better business’ approach is best,” explained John Rainer, Babergh Senior Environmental Health officer.

“We are keen to help all companies to get into line and so are offering advice which would normally cost hundreds of pounds - for free. But spaces are limited, so hurry if you want to benefit!”

But beware. Those businesses that are failing to properly implement such a system could be liable to prosecution. If found guilty businesses could face a hefty fine or even a prison sentence.
