David is Visiting Professor in Business Creativity at the University of Bedfordshire and after 10 years as CEO of HFL Sport Science, a drug surveillance and contract research organisation based in Newmarket, established The Ideas Centre (which is based in Hadleigh) as a business platform to promote business innovation.

Plant Parts Ltd. has won the UK’s top business award, The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade.
Plant Parts which is based on the Lady Lane Industrial Estate has been established 20 years and was originally based in its founders garages before moving to rented premises on Lady Lane in 1995, the company moved into its custom designed premises in 2007.
Specialising in parts for Komatsu earth moving machines and excavator final drive gearboxes the company has been in the export market from its early days. Exports account for about 2/3rds of its business with customers in over 100 countries worldwide. The company currently employs 13 people including a recently appointed apprentice warehouseman.
The award, which is more often associated with much larger organisations, is a significant achievement for the company and recognises the export growth achieved over the last 5 years. The company is entitled to display the award emblem and fly the flag for a 5 year period and the award should help to boost the company’s reputation both in the UK and internationally. The award will be formally presented by Lord Tollemache as the Queen’s representative in Suffolk followed in July by a reception at Buckingham Palace for the owners Robert and Richard Finch.
