In a bid to reduce crime and limit anti-social behavior this Christmas, Babergh has asked all high street licensees to join in a scheme to "Get a Licensed Lift Home".
The scheme promoted by Babergh District Council is intended to help pub and club users to get home safely by asking licensees to display a list of licensed operator numbers and provide information on how to check the validity of a licensed vehicle.
But it's not just the partygoers they expect to benefit but also the neighbours of licensed premises and the licensees themselves by helping with the safe dispersal of customers away from town centre areas. This will, says the council, help to reduce the chances of crime and disorder and anti-social behaviour.
All town centre premises licence and club premises certificate holders will be asked to display a poster giving the relevant information.
