Business Training Opportunities

We are currently exploring ways to 'upskill' the local Hadleigh Community in I.T/Literacy and Numeracy. We are looking for employers to join our new cost effective training initiative that utilizes a currently unused allocation of Goverment Funding. If you are interested in training opportunities for your Business or maybe you have your own trainer and need a location to training your employees, please call Hadleigh Learning Centre on (01473) 826150 or look at the brand new website on www.hadleighlearningcentre.co.uk.

Training

Is there any way the Learning Centre could link with school leavers who might need help in these areas as they move from Hadleigh High to the work environment? And what form does this Government grant take? Can you give a few more details?

Business Training Opportunities

We are currently working with local schools on an initiative to help teaching assistants to gain the Level 2 Literacy or Numeracy Certificates, which are equivalent to GCSE level English and Maths. This is now becoming a mandatory requirement for all teaching assistants.

These certificates can also help those people who missed out on their GCSE Maths and English 'C' Grade to gain entry to University and the best part is that they are FREE. We are now looking to work with school leavers, however the funding which we utilize can only be used for 19+ learners. We can help pre-19 learners (patricularly in regard to the Literacy and Numeracy Certificates) but with regard to our general courses we can only accept pre-19 learners if no alternative is available through mainstream education.

Literacy for the over19s

Seems to me there might well be people who could use literacy and numeracy opportunies, but if they're over 19 they won't easily hear about the classes - or more importantly be able to read about them. How is this opportunity advertised?
